Anya Castro is just your regular teenage girl. She’s mostly known as the one who can’t stop laughing, or smiling. She cracks jokes all the time, and loves to make people laugh. She’s got a bouncy personality. She’s got loads of friends but there are only a few that she can really trust. She’s the type of girl you can go to anything for. She puts others before herself, and tries her best not to let anyone down. Some would say she’s genuine, others would say she’s a great friend, and she truly is. Though some people may think they know Anya really well, they’re completely wrong. Only her true friends know what’s really going on behind the smiles and laughs. At home, Anya is the complete opposite of what she is at school. She’s quiet, and often secludes herself from any communication with her mother and her boyfriend. It’s a sob story. Anya’s father left her when she was four, and ended up staying with her mom. With the whole divorce, Anya’s mother picked up the bad habit of drinking, and taking it out on Anya. For awhile, Anya’s mother had beaten her, but stopped as soon as Anya started middle school. That was when Anya was beginning to keep herself away from the house as long as possible. Eventually she had a boyfriend, and well, things went downhill from there. Ever since she started dating Brian, the fights between Anya and her mother began to rise up again, causing her mother to keep her inside the house at all times. As much as Anya loves her mother, she grew sick and tired of her, dealing with all the put downs and abuse. Once Anya joined the Unbroken Hearts Program, she was happy to get out of the house, and be with people that actually might actually understand her situation.
